<image:caption>At the Chickasha Vision Center you can expect the best in eye care and technology. We specialize in all medical eye conditions including Cataracts, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Diabetes, Dry Eye, and high-risk medication exams. As we move throughout life, our eyes change and adjust, an eye exam is recommended once per year. <image:caption>Medical eye exams are essential in total wellness care as we age. The doctor can see the live blood vessels which gives them a chance to see if there are any plaques developing as well as noting diabetic changes. There are many instances that systemic diseases such as diabetes or conditions such as high cholesterol are diagnoses by your eye doctor. Our technology allows our doctors to get images and scans of all parts of the eye to help them diagnose and treat a wide variety of eye conditions.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Glaucoma - Introduction to Glaucoma</image:title>
<image:caption>Glaucoma, often referred to as the 'silent thief of sight,' is a group of eye conditions that can lead to irreversible vision loss. It's typically associated with high pressure inside the eye and is one of the leading causes of blindness for people over the age of 60. However, with early detection and treatment, the effects of glaucoma can be minimized.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Glaucoma damages the optic nerve, which is vital for good vision. This damage often occurs when fluid builds up in the front part of the eye, increasing the pressure inside the eye and hence damaging the optic nerve. There are several types of glaucoma, and understanding them is key to effective management.</image:caption>

Risk factors include age, family history, certain medical conditions, and extreme nearsightedness.</image:caption>
